While the it literally stopped the show two years ago, the Nissan GT-R was very much under the radar this time around.

But Godzilla has moved ahead and while Nissan quietly released an updated version at the Tokyo motor show, the car has some subtle but significant changes.

Visually almost identical to previous models, the latest GT-R now includes rear diffuser cooling ducts from Spec-V. A tweaked suspension boosts comfort levels "without affecting roadholding", Nissan says.

Upgraded exhaust catalysts improve low and mid-range response and the navigation system has been updated, while Spec-V models get revised rear shock absorber ratings for better ride and handling.

The changes, which improve comfort and make the GT-R even faster, are only for the Japanese market ... for now.
