Iafrica Motoring normally wouldn't feature skateboarding pro Tony Hawk on our pages but a report that came our way was worthy enough to place skateboards in the class of other four-wheeled road going vehicles - if only momentarily.
V8 Supercars Australia, a company that manages, markets, and promotes the V8 Supercars sport, heard that Hawk was heading to their continent to watch the Telstra 500 V8 Supercar race in Sydney. They decided to honour him with a suitable creation; a V8-powered skateboard.
Although the vehicle has been carefully engineered and designed, it remains little more than an oversized skateboard with a 470kW, V8 Supercar engine bolted on.
There is no roll cages or steering wheel, just a throttle for speed and a large red cut-off switch should anything go wrong.
