Yes, we know you love your bakkies, South Africa. So we've decided to publish a list of best-selling pickups every month.

After the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (Naamsa) releases the figures for new vehicle sales each month, we'll slap together a list of the top ten best-selling bakkies.

In March 2012, the Toyota Hilux remained firmly at the top of the pile. The Nissan NP200 jumped up a spot to second, while the Ford Ranger made massive strides, moving from seventh to third and more than tripling its sales figure from February.

The Chevrolet Utility dropped to fourth place, and the Toyota Land Cruiser Pick-up managed to break into the top ten. The VW Amarok fell a couple of places, while Nissan's NP300 and Navara stayed steady at sixth and eighth respectively.
