A motorist stopped by a police officer sped off with the stunned cop hanging onto his car's bonnet.

The incident in China's eastern city of Xuancheng, involving a car that was stopped at a toll booth for failing to display a numberplate, was caught on camera.

The cop managed to hang on for about 200 metres, before his colleagues came to his rescue.

According to reports, the motorist was arrested and later sentenced to one year is prison for his actions.
