Romanian officials have filmed a group of criminals attempting to loot a moving cargo truck in a scene reminiscent of a Fast and the Furious film.

The grainy video, shot by country's Department for Organised Crime and Terrorism, shows two men climbing out of the sunroof of their SUV, which is positioned behind the moving truck on a dark highway.

One man slides down the SUV's bonnet, while the other hangs onto his legs. The first man manages to open the truck's rear doors and has a look inside. Apparently, the cargo was not worth the effort, as he then closes the doors before the men clamber back into the SUV.

According to reports, the gang has since been arrested for stealing items such televisions, cigarettes and coffee, which they later sold in Bucharest.
