A heatwave in Wisconsin caused a section of highway to buckle, forming a ramp that saw an SUV fly through the air.

Highway 29 in Eau Claire, which was recently constructed, failed to hold together thanks to a combination of extreme heat and arguably shoddy workmanship. Most vehicles approaching the "ramp" slowed down, and there appeared to be signs warning motorists, but the SUV in the video hits it at too high a speed.

The vehicle flies through the air, lands on the tarmac and swerves across to the other side of the highway, before finally coming to a stop in the adjacent field.
