Dramatic CCTV footage shows a New York man calling 911 while clinging onto the back of a moving vehicle.

Robert Kowalik made the call to report that he had been hit by a pickup truck and was being dragged along the road.

"I got hit by a truck. I'm hanging on the back of a white truck. Hurry, hurry," the 45-year-old Kowalik says on the 911 tape.

The driver was apparently Seth Scudds, an acquaintance he had been arguing with outside a store.

"He just hit me, I'm hanging on his truck, hurry, hurry, oh please hurry, I can't hang on too much," Kowalik says on the tape. "He ran over my leg. He ran over my leg. I can't hold on much longer. He's killing me."

Kowalik is also heard pleading for an unknown medication, saying "I want my pills back... my narcotics".

Scudds eventually stops, and surveillance cameras show Kowalik grabbing a bag from the vehicle. Officials say Kowalik was not hit by the vehicle, as he had claimed, but was instead hanging on to it. He sustained cuts and bruises during the incident.

Later, Scudds was arrested and charged with assault, reckless endangerment and reckless driving.
