He wears a green lycra costume, black undies and a cape and has been hailed as a hero by Australian motorsists for setting their clamped cars free.

He calls himself Wheel Clamp Man and he has been using an angle grinder to help Australian motorists in the city of Perth escape wheel clamps.

The caped crusader was inspired to act after he was clamped himself.

"I'm helping people out," Wheel Clamp Man said. "I don't feel I'm damaging property.

"The amount of money these companies make off innocent people is insane. Where does that money go? Not into car parks or safer streets. It goes into their pocket."

Australian authorities though are not impressed by Wheel Clamp Man and have described him as a menace and have vowed to 'deal with him.'
