An American woman who was caught driving at 160km/h while holding down her hooter told police that God told her to do it.
According to media reports, Melissa Miller was arrested on charges of speeding and reckless driving in Florida.
A police report says that an officer spotted a silver Toyota with its hooter sounding and an arm stuck out of the window. The driver initially refused to stop, picking up speed (reportedly to 160km/h in a 50km/h zone) and swerving across two lanes.
When the officer finally got the 41-year-old Miller to stop, she was reportedly apologetic. The police report quotes her as saying she was speeding "because I was letting the Lord spirit guide me". She added that she used her hooter because "the Lord [was] telling me to do it."
Miller has been released on bail.
