Germany's Sebastian Vettel led a Red Bull one-two by winning the British Grand Prix Sunday ahead of teammate Mark Webber.

Rubens Barrichello, in a Brawn GP, finished third. Team-mate Jenson Button, the championship leader, finished sixth.

Vettel started on pole and led the race almost from start to finish to secure the second Formula One win of his career.

The German is the only driver to have dented Button's monopoly on victory so far this season - before Silverstone Button had won six of the season's seven races to take a commanding grip on the drivers' championship.

After this race Button has 64 points, Barrichello 41 and Vettel 39.

Over 100 000 fans packed into Silverstone for what may have been the circuit's final hosting of a Formula One race.

Next year it is due to move to Donington, although Formula One rights holder Bernie Ecclestone indicated this weekend there may be hope for Silverstone in the future.
