Chris Visser and Japie Badenhorst are among the seven crews vying for top honours in this year’s Absa Off Road championship. The Team Ford Racing crew will continue the battle at this weekend’s 4x4 Mega World 400 at Carnival City.

With just three rounds remaining the top seven contenders are separated by just 17.5 points, making for an exciting battle that will likely go down to the wire at the final round of the season.

“The fight is still really open at this point,” said Visser. “This weekend’s event could be make or break for many of the crews. A good result could put us at the forefront of the battle while a bad result good leave us out of touch.”

Lance Woolridge and Ward Huxtable will pilot the second SP Ford Ranger TDCi. They continue to grow from strength to strength as they get to grips with the challenges of the premier class.

“We had a good outing last time and it would be great to upset some of the leading crews with a strong points finish,” commented Woolridge.

The 4x4 Mega World 400 will offer plenty of opportunity for spectators to enjoy the fast-paced event with hot and dusty conditions on the cards. This year’s event also promises a large field further adding to the overall spectacle.

“It’s make or break now,” says Team Manager Neil Woolridge. “Tensions are high and there is everything to play for so spectators will certainly be in for and exciting event.”
