Suzuki has unveiled the design for their new sedan, along with key specifications for its engine and gearbox.
Suzuki claims the vehicle combines European style with Japanese craftsmanship. The Kizashi, as it is called, will be powered by a 2.4-litre DOHC engine through a six-speed manual transmission.
Buyers can opt for the CVT transmission, which delivers a satisfying driving experience and fuel efficiency without detradcting from the car's 'enthusiast' aspects.
A hybrid version of the Kizashi will follow.
Suzuki pursues a contemporary, upscale interior feel. Sports seats are standard, keeping with the vehicle's on-road performance characteristics.
Driving enthusiasts will appreciate Kizashi's sporty and elegant instrument panel, while consumers seeking a luxury sedan will be pleased with the leather seating option, featuring high-density foam and premium quality materials that rival upscale competitors.
The Kizashi includes long list of standard safety equipment, including eight crashbags, electronic stability, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution, projector beam headlamps and a tire pressure monitoring system.
The inclusion of Suzuki's next-generation i-AWD system - a safety and performance feature - is more typically found among luxury sport sedan offerings.
Engineered to provide outstanding traction in inclement weather, the sophisticated all-wheel-drive system also improves cornering. Activated from a switch on the instrument panel, it shifts power to the rear wheels upon acceleration. Torque split remains dependent on several factors, including wheel slippage and throttle input.
It's not often you hear of a company that wants a zero score - but Renault's plans depend on it.
