It is facelift season for a number of SUV's and 4x4 vehicles and Mitsubishi has included its Outlander the annual makeover festival.

The changes are intended to make the 2010 model easily distinguishable from its predecessor, Mitsubishi says.

The design on the big and bold Outlander is now sleeker and more refined than previous models and chrome finishing around the grille, window mouldings and tailgate is intended to add a touch of class to the vehicle that has reportedly been nicknamed the "Urban Warriror".

Ultra-smooth

Power is provided by a 2.4-litre engine, with maximum output of 125 kW and 226 Nm of torque. It is coupled to Mitsubishi's CVT transmission

Mitsubishi claims the drive-train will deliver "all-round performance, ultra-smooth city driving characteristics, and the distinctly eager, sporty responses when pressing on and making the most of the transmission's six-step Sports Mode".

The four-wheel-drive system is electronically controlled by a selector dial so the vehicle can be quickly and easily set up for varying road conditions.

The cabin will seat five with ease and is finished in synthetic leather finish around the dashboard, doors. The instrument cluster has been refreshed with back-lit dials and a LCD information display.

High-visibility

New to the model is adaptive front lighting system, which adjusts the headlightsfor both steering angle and vehicle speed to improve night-time visibility.

Other features include rear-parking sensors, keyless operating system and start function, cruise control, climate control, multi-function steering wheel, leather interior, electric tilt-and-slide glass sunroof, integrated roof rails and privacy glass for the rear windows.

Safety remains high on the list and the Outlander has six crash bags, active stability control,and ABS brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution.

For those that can't live without their music, a premium audio system with a six-disc, MP3-compatible CD changer and nine speakers, including a powerful subwoofer in the luggage compartment, is also standard. This impressive system, including a 6-CD changer, delivers exceptional audio entertainment with a remarkable output of 710W is a standard fitment.
