Nissan's hard-working bakkie range is set to benefit from the addition of the new Navara Titanium, due for release in South Africa in September 2012.

With a host of styling and other upgrades on the current SE model, the Navara Titanium provides a stand-out option for fans of the rugged bakkie.

Limited to a production run of just 200 units to maintain exclusivity, the new Navara Titanium Special Version receives styling and specification upgrades to set it apart from other Navara models.

These include titanium-coloured wheels as well as a satin-smoked-finish front grille, rear step bumper, side mirror covers and door handles, in keeping with the titanium metallic theme. Feature upgrades include all-terrain tyres, a tow bar, front bull bar, tonneau cover, embossed carpets and a special Titanium branded key ring - all fitted as standard. The Nissan Navara Titanium will be available in three colours - white, black and silver.

The Nissan Navara Titanium will be available in 4x4 and 4x2 and starts at R374 000 for the former and R415 000 for latter. It boasts a six-speed manual gearbox, for capitalising on the torquey 2.5-litre common-rail turbo diesel engine, which produces, in the 4x4 derivative, 128kW and 403Nm torque. The 4x4 model has a claimed fuel consumption of 9.0 litres per 100km and a 3000kg towing capacity with a braked trailer. This model also has a ground clearance of 233mm, an approach angle of 29 degrees and a departure angle of 22 degrees.

"The Nissan Navara Titanium Special Version really brings into being the toughness of the Navara and is perfect for individuals who like to take the road less travelled. It has been well-positioned and offers great value in an exclusive package," says Marinus Venter, Navara Product Manager at Nissan South Africa.
