Peugeot unveiled its Urban Crossover Concept in Beijing earlier this year, but it has now been greenlit to go into production in 2013 as the 2008 Concept.
The French automaker will reveal the 2008 Concept at its home motor show in Paris later this month. The vehicle is aimed at the "young-minded city dwellers who love the city, while also loving to escape from it."
The 2008 is based on the 208 hatch but has crossover height and functionality.
The vehicle will be powered by a new generation 1.2l three-cylinder, turbocharged engine. Peugeot claims that the engine will kick out 82kW. Fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emmissions are also expected to be low.
