The Mediclinic in Nelspruit has confirmed that a Ford Figo caught alight and completely burned to ashes on its hospital premises on Wednesday.
The clinic says a couple arrived at the facility earlier on Wednesday.
Once the patient was dropped off at the emergency bay her husband made his way to the parking bay and the car burst into flames.
This comes just two days after Ford decided to recall 1.6 litre Kuga models manufactured between December 2012 and February 2014.
The cause of the latest incident in Nelspruit is not yet clear.
No one was harmed.
Mediclinic's Robyn Baard says, “He got to the parking bay and the car was then on fire, the car burnt out. Fortunately nobody was injured and there was no damage to property.”
Ford SA has so far been unavailable for comment.
