The Western Cape Government has once again released a video as part of its Safely Home campaign. But is it becoming more tedious than helpful?
Many drivers are still not adhering to road safety as speeding ranks the second highest contributing factor in South African road fatalities according to the Road Traffic Management Corporation.
Despite this information, the word “Speed Kills” still does not seem to affect many motorists.
According to IOL, instead of buying another billboard or print advertisement, the Western Cape Government has instead taken another approach to raise awareness on the issue of speed. This was done with a graphic Youtube video titled “The Knock On Effect”.
This is specifically aimed at those drivers who are do not express concern regarding their own safety. Negligent driving may claim the life of a pedestrian and affect their families as a result, hence “The Knock on Effect”.
