How often do we pay attention to road signs whilst driving? Well, this motorist alerted the Western Cape Department of Transport and Public Works of an incorrect road sign.
Heinrich Hendricks stopped to take a picture of the '80km/m' sign, which he wondered was a new speed warning or an error made.
This was taken on the R62 in Huisrivierpass, 40km out of Ladismith.
Johan Jonck of Arrive Alive said that: "We are pleased to find that the Department of Public Works has responded swiftly to the alert from the public.
"Proper road audits need to ensure that these 'errors' do not endanger or confuse road users. We believe the important lesson from this should also be that every road user has a role to play in road safety."
Good morning Heinrich! Thank you for this tweet. Please let us know the location of this road sign?— TransportPublicWorks (@WCGovTPW) August 29, 2017
