It has been confirmed that Valtteri Bottas will stay at Mercedes next season after signing a new contract.
In January 2017, Bottas joined Mercedes on a one year deal after replacing the retired world champion Nico Rosberg. He is also third in the drivers' championship this year.
As cited by BBC Sport, Bottas said: "When the team hired me for the 2017 season, they took a leap of faith by putting their trust in my skills."
"This new contract shows that I've earned that trust."
"Bottas' upward trajectory made it a no-brainer for us to continue with him into 2018,” Mercedes boss Toto Wolff mentioned.
"The chemistry and dynamic between Valtteri and Lewis works and are what we need to take the fight to our competitors."
