In Norway, a group of school children came very close to what could have been a fatal road incident as they ran across the road without looking for oncoming traffic.
This encourages the importance of teaching children road safety.
As cited by wheels24, Arrive Alive editor Johan Jonck says: "The onus is both on the passengers and on road users driving in the vicinity of pedestrian activity to remain alert and vigilant.
"Always consider threats and what could possibly go wrong, wherever there's a bus or truck or other vehicle stationary next to the road. We need to consider a pedestrian, especially small children, that could suddenly disembark such a vehicle."
