Audi look ahead with teaser sketches of forthcoming stars including next year's A5 Sportback, the all new A7 four-door coupe due in 2010 and the next generation A8, expected the following year.
The A5 looks less like a traditional Audi hatch, more like a low-slung sedan but it shares the same powertrains as the A5 Coupe and forthcoming A5 soft-top Cabrio. S and RS versions are expected.
The four-dour A7 couple, anticipated late next year, is characterised by short overhangs like those of the TT Coupe, extremely tapered headlights and the straight roofline that bends into the rear hatch. Engines should include a 152kW 2.8-litre, 223kW 3.0-litre supercharged unit and a 293kW 4.2-litre V8 lump. An RS7 model, with a 447kW twin-turbocharged 5.2-litre V10, should arrive later.
And the new sketches show that the next generation A8 as a more aggressive-looking saloon with a low profile roof and single frame grille. Engines should be a 3.0-litre V6 TDI, 3.0-litre V6 FSI, 4.2-litre V8 TDI, and a 4.2-litre V8 FSI. The S8 is rumoured to be getting a 5.0-litre V10 FSI.
Got something to say?
