It has become clear that companies at the Frankfurt Motor Show are going to make a lot of noise about hybrids and 'green' motoring.

Lexus is joining in the fun this year and will debut its LF-Ch full-hybrid, premium compact concept.

Also on the Lexus stand will be an updated LS model range, revised versions of GS, IS and IS F and the IS250C convertible.

Lexus says the LF-Ch will make it "the only manufacturer to offer a range of full-hybrid vehicles" that are engineered to please "the most demanding premium compact segment customers".

The LS600h, which is billed as "the world's only full-hybrid vehicle in the premium luxury sedan segment" has bespoke exterior and cabin styling.

The changes to the rest of the Lexus range are likely to be more subtle. New colour ranges and enhanced safety features make the list, as do upgraded audio and navigation systems.

The RX450h, a hybrid launched to the South African market, will also be on display.
