The Cadillac CTS may eventually become available locally later on in the year and GM reckons it's going to challenge the likes of the BMW 3-Series, Lexus IS, and Mercedes C-Class.
The Cadillac CTS, an entry level sedan, first debuted in 2002 and has been completely redesigned for the 2008 model year. Local variants are expected to have substantially powerful engines and hauled by the rear wheels with an All Wheel Drive option.
Although the exterior features "hard edged" styling, the interior is done by Draexlmaier whose other clients include Maybach, Mercedes, and Bugatti.
So how will the CTS fair locally? Given that it is actually the same size (overall length) as the 5-Series and E-Class, the CTS has more cabin space and may be powered by engines that are comparable to the 5-Series, GM are confident.
We'll have to wait and see...
