German automaker BMW will unveil its Active Tourer Concept car at the Paris Motor Show later this month.

The car is supposed to be a front-wheel drive variation of the 1 series, albeit in hatchback from.

The concept will be powered by an eDrive plug-in hybrid engine. BMW's hybrid setup sees a turbocharged, 1.5l three-cylinder engine being paired up with a lithium ion powered electric system. The hybrid system is expected to produce 142kW and 199Nm of torque. BMW also claims that the system will see the car accelerate from 0-99km/h in under eight seconds and has a top speed of 199km/h.

More importantly though, when running on electricity only the vehicle has a claimed driving range of 32km. Fuel consumption is claimed to be at 2.5l/100km.
