Mercedes-Benz has added a new addition to its electric vehicle family, the battery-powered electric version of its B-Class vehicle.

The concept car will be unveiled at the upcoming Paris Motor Show later this month and will be one of the first models to incorporate Mercedes-Benz's Electric Drive moniker.

The B-Class Electric Drive is equipped with a 100kW electric motor that produces 310Nm of torque. The car has a claimed range of 200km. The battery can be charged at any standard domestic 230V power outlet or alternatively - with rapid charging function - at a 400V high-voltage terminal.

Mercedes says that the B-Class Electric Drive is almost ready for series production in 2014.

In addition to the B-Class, Mercedes-Benz will also unveil the SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive and the Smart Brabus electric drive.
