Audi will unveil a five-door version of its popular A3 vehicle at next week's Paris Motor Show.
The A3 Sportback is slightly larger than the previous Sportback but up to 90kg lighter, thanks to the German marque's new lightweight design principles. This sees a mixture of ultra-high-strenght steels being used to make the bulk of the body while aluminium has been used behind the front bumper and front axle subframe.
The Sportback offers more interior space thanks to a front axle that has been moved 35mm forward. The wheelbase has also been increased by 58mm.
At launch, thje Sportback will have three engines; a 1.8-litre TFSI, a 1.6-litre TDI and a 1.4 TFSI engine. Audi is lining up more engine choices for the model range, including two 2.0-liter TDIs and a 1.2 TFSI engine.
The vehicle will also come with heaps of driver aids including adaptive cruise control, active lane assist and parking assist.
