What's the fastest production car to 300km/h? A Bugatti Veyron, perhaps? The Koenigsegg Agera R, maybe? Nope, it's a Texas-built supercar that goes by the name "Hennessey Venom GT".
The 928kW Venom GT has now set a Guinness World Record for reaching 300km/h in just 13.63 seconds, beating the Agera R by almost a second.
Hennessey conducted the speed test at Ellington Airport near Houston. To meet the regulations, the twin-turbo V8 Venom GT had to use street tyres, 93 octane petrol, and have the full interior installed.
