Worse is when they decide to \"excite\" us with these shoot outs!! <br /><br />1) Since the M3 was born before the others, journalists are loathe to evolve from its attributes. You can expect that every shoot-out will end up in an M3 verdict. Boring!!<br /><br />2) People are more educated about their buying decisions. They aren't buying cars based on what the car can do. Its about what the customer values. <br /><br />3) There are no roads made up of only corners & bends. Most roads are straight! Research published a while ago in car magazine showed that about 40% of persons purchasing a car first do extensive research on the product, and frequently know more about it than the salesperson.  Secondly they will look very closely at those figures.<br /><br />More importantly though I am one of those also subjective people that drive a BMW simply for the sheer driving pleasure.  The most important aspect of a car is it's suspension system - where BMW is miles ahead of the rest.
